Description
Right out of the glass you get notes of rye bread, honey, vanilla, cinnamon, and candied apricots. The mouth-feel is rich and creamy with a thick body and notes of vanilla custard followed by bright citrus zest, white pepper, caramel, and toasted oak. The finish is medium length and filled with warmth and baking spices.
This is the first bourbon release for Louisville-based Peerless Distilling Co. Like the distillery’s rye whiskey releases, this too is produced using a sweet mash rather than a sour mash. The Kentucky straight bourbon is bottled at cask strength without chill-filtration.
