Probably the most famous and well-known of Italian wines, Chianti is true stunner and a special designation of Italian wine. First off, to earn the title of Chianti, the wine has to come from Chianti itself, in the central part of Tuscany. Secondly, the wine can be a blend but at least 75% of that blend must be Sangiovese, absolute royalty among the Italian grapes. Then it has to be aged properly, at least 3 months in oak and often longer. Once it hits these standards, a wine can be called Chianti. The Luna Chianti is a stunner. These wines are often called the Bordeauxs of Italy and this one is just as elegant and delicious as some of the wines of the French region. Sample this stunner with a hearty Italian dish, maybe even a chicken Parmesan.
