Description
The Hasher Family Wines estate is found in the Cape South Coastregionof South Africa, in the reknowned ward of Upper Hemel-En-Aarde Valley, one of three wards that surround the coastal town of Hermanus. This particulararea of the Cape South Coastis well known for its Burgundian style wines, benefitting from a cooler climate then the rest of South Africa due to the temperature dropping influence of the Atlantic Ocean and from clay deposits in the soil. The Hasher Family Wines estate dedicates nearly a third of their land to wildlife and nature conservation.
The Mirimist is barrel fermented in seasoned oak for 9 months and undergoes 70% malolactic fermentation. It is named after the maritime mist that pours in from the Atlantic Ocean on summer mornings, providing much needed respite from theheat and enabling an even and balanced ripening whilst retaining acidity. Flavours and aromas of lime, blossom and white peach are abundant, whilst the oak lends a depth of texture to the palate.
