Description
Although owned now by J. L. Seale Dorrly’s was established as Martin Doorly & Co in 1908 (due to Bajan rum Duty laws allowing rum only to be sold in bulk by distlillers). The name soon evovled into Doorly Macaw Rum. The name is rarely used now but the bottles still feature a parrot on them.
Doorly’s was the first brand to be exported from the island in bottle and in keeping with tradition the present owners produce it for export only. Distillation is carried out at the Foursquare distillation.
A blend of pot and column still produced rums this 14 year old has been aged in mainly ex-bourbon casks and some ex-madeira casks. Plenty of spice such as ginger and oak leading to sweetness from the madeira casks and a hint of dark chocolate.
