In 1972, Caymus began as a small family venture with Chuck Wagner, his father Charlie, and his mother Lorna Belle. Using makeshift equipment and sheer determination, they created their first Cabernet Sauvignon. Neighborly generosity from wineries like Inglenook and Beaulieu provided used barrels and inspiration, while Robert Mondavis vision for Napa Cabernet helped fuel their dream.
Today, 50 years later, Caymus remains family-owned, with Chuck joined by his children Charlie and Jenny in crafting world-class wines. The 2022 vintage reflects the same excitement as the inaugural releaselush, dark, and beautifully balanced, showcasing Caymus signature style.
