Description
A piece of liquid history, theBlackTotis the last consignment of the originalBritishRoyal Naval Rum, a daily tradition on the high seas that ended on July 31st of 1970 – a day known since asBlackTotDay. This is true London Dock rum, embodying pot-still rum flavors unseen in almost half a century. The blending of ages and its slow oxidation in neutral containers for the last 40 years creates a powerful, unctuous, layered rum. Very limited stocks.
A borderline heavy rum, almost mahogany-dark, with wave after wave of rich, dark unsweetened chocolate, molasses, brown sugar, and oak deftly kept in check.Nuts, rye bread, some coffee, and underlying it all the mustiness of an old second-hand bookstore.
