Many people think of the sweeter wine port when they think of wine from Portugal, (thats where port got its name from after all!) but Portugal has a much more varied and vibrant wine culture than just port. Alisos is a great example. Made from many native grapes like Roupeiro and Arinto, most of which are nearly unknown in the United States, this wine is a great representation of Portugal, a signature Portuguese white blend.
The goal when making a wine like Alisos is to make it a crowd-pleaser, one that you will be proud to serve at a party. They succeeded. The blend is easy drinking, with nice fruit and floral nose and a nice structure. With an elegant finish, this wine is a well-balanced wine that you will be certain to love. A great match for Summer barbecues and picnics. It is a great party wine, especially with the nice warm weather. It is an easy drinking and enjoyable sipper.
