Description
1792 Small Batch Bourbon is a premium bourbon made in Bardstown, Kentucky at the historic Barton 1792 distillery. The distillery was named in honour of the year Kentucky joined the United States and was originally founded in 1879 as a new project by the Tom Moore distillery. The distillery changed hands numerous times over the years before eventually being acquired by the Sazerac Co in 2009. Formerly known as Ridgewood Reserve 1792, it is blended using small but selected barrels aged for different lengths of time to achieve a consistent style by their master distiller. It begins the journey to your glass with high quality corn, rye and barley – distilled twice in copper pot stills before being aged in charred oak barrels. The boubon is then bottled at 46.9% abv.
The flavour profile of 1792 small batch is characterised by its smooth, sweet and slightly spicy notes. On the nose, hints of cinnamon and vanilla – a fantastic combination and on the palate, rich caramel and oaky charr.
Best enjoyed on the rocks.
