The Sazerac is this kind of drink, with a lot of history behind it and a lot of expectation. And unfortunately, if made without precision or great ingredients, it can truly be the worst of drinks. We think, humbly of course, that this fruity, rummy version is one of the best.
Recipe:
– 2 ozPlantation Stiggins’ Fancy Plantation Pineapple Rum
– 1/4 oz BG Reynolds Rich Demerara Syrup
– 3 dashes Peychauds Bitters
– 1 dash Angostura Bitters
– Dash of Letherbee Charred Oak Absinthe Brun
Stir rum, syrup, and bitters over ice, strain into absinthe-rinsed cocktail glass. Garnish with lemon and orange twist.
