Description
Every batch of Boodles Gin begins as a clean spirit distilled from British wheat. The liquid is then redistilled in a Carter Head copper still, which allows the botanicals to gradually infuse into the spirit. Interestingly, Boodles Gin contains no citrus. The recipe does include juniper, coriander seed, angelica root, angelica seed, cassia bark, caraway seeds, nutmeg, rosemary, and sage. These ingredients add a mellow but herbal qualityto the gin.
Very classic clean nose, lots of pine,with ahint of spice and earthiness in the background. The palate is bright and juniper-forward, with a hint of caraway, and despite the recipe, lemon rind shows up mid-palate before a sweet spice led finish. Adeeper look reveals the prickly spice of the coriander and a hint of cinnamon bark. Highly recommended fora Gin & Tonic, Last Word, or Corpse Reviver.
