Description
Burns Night, a celebration of Scotland’s national poet Robert Burns, is observed each year on January 25, and is serious business for the Scots. Involving bagpipers, poetry, and haggis (and of course a formal “Address to a Haggis”), it generally involves a goodly amount of Whisky as well. That’s where we come in. Old Mr. Burns happened to also unknowingly lend his name to one of our favorite cocktails, the Bobby Burns. Basically, it’s a complexified Rob Roy, adding honey-herbal Benedictine to the basic “Scotch Manhattan” formula in place of bitters. It’s a toothsome libation, and we’re willing to go out on a limb and say that Bobby would have loved it.
