Pasubio is the star of the show here, a vino amaro that sits in beautifully whenever sweet vermouth is called for in a drink (and for our money drinks better on its own than most as well). When it first came into our store a few years ago, we couldn’t wait to mix up some Manhattans with it, adorning our favorite Ryes with the Amaro’s notes of juicy blueberries, pine, smoke, and herbal depth. Bitter Truth’s Jerry Thomas Bitters serve to enchance the spice profile and tie the drink together… and of course don’t forget the candied blueberry garnish! This one deserves a place alongside the Black Manhattan in your strong and stirred repertoire.
