Description
Located in Prieska in the west of the Northern Cape area of South Africa. With a desert-like climate and far out of prime latitudinal preference this area isn’t exactly considered a prime spot for grape growing, but the heat is moderated by altitudinal influence and a marked diurnal range that allows the grapes opportunity to ripen whilst retaining acidity. This dry, arid climate also really suits organic farming, which Lowerland excel at.
The Die Wonderdraai is a Chenin Blanc and Colombard blend, with gooseberry flavours with yellow peach, kumquat and a twist of black pepper. There is a certain salinity to it, a refreshing minerality.
