Description
Calco Wines are a collaboration between Triangle Wines and the De Martino family based in the Limari Valley of Chile. The cool Pacific influence of this area are particularly good for growing more typical old world varieties such as Pinot Noir and Chardonnay – both varieties being early budding and ripening and therefore more suited to a cooler climate and a lengthier ripening period. Using a ‘lutte raisonee’ approach to farming, these wines are made using minimal chemical intervention unless absolutely necessary.
This Chardonnay is described as ‘Chablis-esque’ with a prominent mineral element, a searing acidity and developed pear, apple and citrus flavours. A real quality wine at a fantastic price.
