Cuban Rum has formed a huge part of Cuba’s national identity (along with cigars) for decades. Cuban-made rum has always had a glamorous appeal because of the US enforced embargo on Cuban goods. This has added a certain allure to Cuban rum – (if you cant have it you want it more) which still stands today.
Distilled in the Clara central region of Cuba,between the East and West regions which produce distinctly different styles, the rums produced are a blend of both the styles.
Only a few rums in Cuba are given ‘Denominacin de Origen Protegida’ and Eminente is one of them.
Aged for 3 years in ex whisky casks this rum has plenty of earthy spice flavours, caramel, and some nuttiness all of which linger on the long persistent finish. Gtreat for cocktails.
