Description
Skinos is the ancient Greek name for Mastiha, and the ancient Greeks used this as a cure for stomache aches, as a digestive aid after a particularly big blow out meal or simply to help cure all sorts of minor ailments. Some Romans even used it to add additional flavour to wine. Resin is harvested from the Masthia tree on the Greek island of Chios,known as “The Mastic Island” this is then distilled to make a truely unique spirit, earthy, leafy and sweet. Hippocrates was onto sometihng, very recently The University of Nottingham discovered that small quantities of the Mastiha tree sap can cure peptic ulcers…
