Description
Mont Rocher Carignan from the Languedoc is made from fifty year old vines which produce very concentrated fruit flavours. There are notes of black cherries, blackcurrant and a lively dark fruit taste that is smooth and rounded. Although this wine is made with an old traditional grape variety, the vinification was carried out in a modern style. The grapes are destemmed and crushed. The fermentation is carried out at controlled temperature, around 23C. The ageing is carried out in tanks with a small amount of French oak staves to add more complexity and roundness to the blend. The vibrant full fruit flavours make this wine a great match with meaty savoury casseroles and roast beef.
