Description
This wine is made of 100% Vermentino. We would pair it with a Roman pasta dish like cacio e pepe or Pasta alla Gricia. Prelius was the name of an ancient coastal lake that has disappeared due to drainage beginning in the 1930’s. Now, what is left of the lake makes up the shores of Maremma Toscana DOC around the town of Grosseto. Cool afternoon breezes that come in from the ocean allow the grapes to remain their sharp acidity and fruit. The wine is vinified in stainless steel and rests on its lees for 6 months to enhance its textural complexity.
